Can’t Get A Fertile Egg!

Where to start in my venture into raising a very rare breed of chicken? Wah! They are beautiful birds, but so far no fertile eggs.

I started last fall by purchasing some lovely birds. Sicilian Buttercups are on the Critical List for the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy. There just aren’t very many of them, and the ones that are out there need lots of work for the most part.

I’ve tried incubating eggs a few times with no results, so am hoping as the weather warms up, the eggs will be more fertile.
